Bruce grew up around the sawmill and still has a strong timber economy, so a lot of the residential lots here were built close to working mills and rail spurs, with mature shade trees planted decades ago right up against older homes.
The hills around Bruce and along Highway 32 hold a lot of second-growth pine and hardwood, and we do plenty of thinning and hazard removal work for landowners managing timber alongside their homesites.

Sawmill and industrial adjacent lots
Homes near the mill and rail spur tend to have older trees that were left standing when the neighborhood was built, and now many are reaching the end of their safe lifespan, needing removal before they come down on their own near active work areas.
Timber management alongside homesites
A lot of Bruce landowners manage small timber tracts right next to their homes, and we handle the transition zone carefully, thinning pines for the timber value while protecting the shade trees closer to the house.
Storm patterns
The hill country around Bruce funnels wind differently than the flatter ground near Water Valley, and we see more localized damage in narrow hollows where wind gets channeled and hits certain properties much harder than their neighbors.
