First response priorities
Safety first: we assess whether anyone's trapped or at risk, whether power lines are involved, and whether the tree or debris is stable or still shifting. Then we work to open access, a driveway, a road, an exit path, before addressing full cleanup.
Coordinating with utilities and first responders
If a downed tree involves a power line, we don't touch it until North East Mississippi Electric Power Association or Oxford Utilities confirms it's de-energized or handles the line themselves. We coordinate directly with them rather than assuming a line is dead.
