Tree Cutting

General-purpose tree cutting for yard trees, fence lines, and firewood-size jobs.

Not every job needs a full removal quote with rigging and a bucket truck. Sometimes you've just got a scrub tree crowding a fence line, a couple of pines you want dropped for firewood, or a leaner in the back forty that's not near anything. That's tree cutting: straightforward felling and bucking without the complexity of a tight structural removal.

We still run the same safety checks on lean, decay, and hang risk on every cut, but the job moves faster and costs less when there's open ground to drop into.

What The Job Includes

  • Directional felling on open-ground trees
  • Bucking to firewood length on request
  • Fence line and property line clearing
  • Brush and limb cleanup included
  • Faster turnaround than structural removals

Where tree cutting fits

Good candidates are trees with clear drop zones: pasture edges, rural lots outside Oxford proper, back corners of a yard away from the house, or fence lines out toward Highway 6 and Highway 7 where sweetgum and cedar volunteer growth crowds the wire.

Felling technique

We cut a directional notch and back cut so the tree lands where we want it, then buck the trunk into rounds on request. If you're keeping the wood for firewood, we'll cut to your preferred length before we leave.

When cutting turns into removal

If we get on-site and the lean or the target zone changes the picture, say a tree we thought was clear of the fence actually has a limb over it, we tell you before we proceed and adjust the price if it now needs rigging instead of a straight fell.

Tree Cutting Questions

Cutting usually means felling a tree in open ground where we don't need rigging or sectional lowering. Removal covers the harder cases, trees near structures or lines that have to come down in pieces. Cutting is generally quicker and cheaper.
